My college career began when I first decided to go to Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I had to go to two days of orientation over the summer, and when I returned home I realized that IUP was not feeling like the right place for me. Over the next few days, I dis-enrolled and decided to take a tour of Slippery Rock University. Immediately I was greeted with friendly people and a close-knit educational environment. I then realized that SRU was where I would start my journey, and I quickly enrolled for a major in Communication with an emphasis on Digital Media Production.

In my sophomore year of college, I took an Introduction to Gender Studies class, and it changed my life. I always had a passion for people and equality, but now I could take my major in Communication and create stories and creative content that had the potential  to not only entertain but also could connect with people in a deeper way. Now I had realized that I had found my drive to create the stories that I had a passion for, and I decided to add a Gender Studies minor to my Communication major.

At the end of my sophomore year, I was learning a lot about graphic design and video editing, yet I felt like I needed more focus on film and television from a creative standpoint and not just the technical side of the industry. I decided then to add a minor in Film & Media Studies, which was the missing piece that now completed my college career. With my focus on digital media, the creative knowledge of film and movie making, and the passion to create stories that deeply connect with people, I now had a clear idea of what I wanted to make of my professional career.
